Hillary Clinton told NTN24 in Quito, Ecuador on June 8, 2010 that the Obama administration is planning to bring a lawsuit against Arizona over its recently passed anti-illegal immigration law SB-1070. According to President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, the Justice Department is currently in the process of deciding whether or not to file suit over Arizona's controversial immigration law, which Mr. Obama has called "misguided" and potentially discriminatory. "What a disappointment," Brewer told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren on Thursday, saying she was shocked the administration would make such an announcement on foreign TV without giving Arizona officials the news first. "We are not going to back away from this issue," Brewer said. "We are going to pursue it, we're going to be very aggressive," Brewer said. "We'll meet them in court ... And we will win." She added: "The population of America agrees with Arizona."

AZ: $1.25M Spent On Squirrels June 19, 2010

Arizona is spending $1.25 million on the Mt. Graham Red Squirrel Recovery Program so they don't become roadkill and then monitor their health. The money is being spent, officials said, because cars kill about five of these squirrels each year. Assuming the bridges work and no squirrels die, over 100 squirrels could be saved throughout the 20 to 25 year lifespan of the bridges. Arizona Department of Transportation Community Relations Director Timothy Tait (602-712-7070) supports this project. Tait said, "It's a pretty specialized item. They are made of military grade nylon. They're fire retardant and will be dyed a green color to fit in with the environment." Graham County Supervisor Mark Herrington thinks that the money could be better spent elsewhere.  "I don't think it's the smartest allocation of resources," he said. "With all the problems were facing today, with the economy the way it is…that's a huge expense and how do you guarantee that the squirrels are going to cross the bridge?"  Read the full story at ABC.  Don't Shoot The Squirrels.  Who supports this decision to spend $1.25M on 250 squirrels?  Who thinks the squirrels will understand how to use these bridges?

Mass Illegal Immigration Crackdown June 2, 2010

After appearing before Congress and attacking Arizona’s new illegal immigration law, Mexican president Felipe Calderón appeared on CNN to talk shop with Wolf Blitzer.  Blitzer turned the tables on the president, opting to ask him instead about his country’s immigration laws, and whether they were just as strict (if not stricter) than Arizona’s.  See the full story at Mediaite.  Consider this:  In Mexico if you don't have the proper papers they send you back to where you came from.  Immigration to Mexico is a process where you have to fill out certain documents and go through proper channels to be recognized as a citizen.  By the way the language in SB-1070 has been changed (click here to read the referendum) so a person cannot be pulled over because they look illegal.  A “lawful stop, detention or arrest” needs to be made first.  So what exactly is wrong with the Arizona law again?  When is it ever ok to be illegal?  Is political correctness damaging our country?

The LA city council jumped on the bandwagon with the Boston city council and others around the country in boycotting Arizona over the newly passed illegal immigration law SB-1070.  This time Arizona is fighting back.  Read the letter written by Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission is telling Antonio Villaraigosa, the Mayor of LA, to either seriously cut all ties with Arizona (including the electricity) or reconsider the wisdom of a boycott.  A good chunk of LA's power comes from Arizona.  If the boycott continues Arizona could potentially pull the plug on LA.  Is Obama's lack of leadership polarizing the country and vetting state against state?  Is it fair for Obama to take sides with certain states over others?  Aren't we called the "United" States?  It is it called when the federal government starts lording over the states?

Students Kicked Off Campus for Wearing American Flag Tees May 6, 2010

Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA - Daniel Galli and his four friends were sitting at a table during break when the vice principal asked two of the boys to remove American flag bandannas that they wearing on their heads and for the others to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out. It is not just the main stream media stirring up trouble by focusing on hype, using the race card and playing on the fears of the uninformed citizens.  Our own President is ignoring the facts, be it purposely or ignorantly, and playing the same dangerous game.

Obama could "potentially" be impeached.  He must have forgotten that Gov. Jan Brewer issued an executive order protecting civil rights and requiring training for the police officers on the new law.  Keep in mind 42% of Arizona is a non-white to begin with.  If you get pulled over taking your kid out for ice cream you’ll probably be driving in a car.  If you are driving in a car you’ll probably have your state driver’s license on you.  If the police say, “I pulled you over because you had a tail light out, can I see your license and registration?” and you say I happen to be driving without a license.  Well that is already illegal no matter what color you are or what state you are in.  All Arizona SB 1070 does is allow the police to do their job and enforce the law.  Let us not forget the words of Ronald Reagan, “A nation without boarders is not a nation”.  A nation that does not enforce the law is also not a nation.  Are police officers really going to needlessly harass close to half the population of the state?  Will this law really bring us back to 1965?  If you were illegally squatting in a foreign country what would give you the right to protest legislation in that country?

Notice how the media head lines shape your perception of the issue.  Many sources focus on the boycott, the outcry, the conflict, the furor and the split.  Few news stories focus on actual facts, if there is a reason to fear this law and what it will actually do.  Read the law for yourself here.  How many people protesting have actually read the law and know what it will do?  How many translators have been working round the clock to inform the protesters?  Is protesting something you don't know and understand similar to screaming "FIRE" in a crowded theater?  How is acting on emotion alone without a foundation of truth dangerous?

On the same day Arizona signed their illegal immigration law violence on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border was raging. On Friday, gunmen killed seven police officers in Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas.
